DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A registered sex offender has been sentenced in a child pornography case.
Philipp Johnson, 40, of Davenport, Iowa was sentenced to 10 years in prison on the charge of possession of child pornography, with another 10 years of supervised release after he serves his term. He must also pay $3,000 to each of his two identified victims.
Johnson pled guilty on January 25, 2016. On December 1, 2014 the Davenport Police Department was notified Johnson’s cell phone contained suspected child pornography. Officers found Johnson was using his phone to search pornographic websites. 496 images of child pornography were found. Some of those images showed children under the age of 12 and a minor engaged in bestiality.
Johnson was already a registered sex offender for a prior conviction of sex abuse of a minor under the age of 13.
The case was investigated by the Davenport Police Department and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
