KEWANEE, Ill. (KWQC) – The Kewanee Police Department is investigating a robbery outside a bank.
At 11:05 AM on Monday, June 27, 2016 the Kewanee Police Department received a 911 call about a robbery in the parking lot of the Community State Bank on Tenney Street.
Officers say a customer was about to enter the bank when a man hit the customer, knocking him to the ground. The suspect took the customer’s money bag and was last seen running way through parking lots.
The suspect is described as a tall, black man wearing a safety vest, white shirt, white hard hat and grey pants. Additional witnesses in the area described a tan or gold Pontiac Grand Prix with dark tinted windows and a missing driver’s side door molding. The car was in the area before the robbery and was seen leaving after the robbery.
The injured customer was transported to OSF St. Luck by Kewanee Fire Rescue for treatment of his injuries.
