ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) – The visitor overlook access to Lock and Dam 16 will be restricted due to construction.
Beginning Monday, September 19, 2016, access to the Lock and Dam 16 visitor overlook will be restricted due to construction activities at the dam. The visitor overlook will remain closed during; which is expected to wrap up in mid-March 2017.
Limited access to the visitor overlook will be available during special events such as the Eagles and Ivories Ragtime Weekend on January 27- 29, 2017. Winter is a popular time at the visitor overlook due to the large concentration of eagles that roost near the dam.
