SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KWQC) – Legislation to promote clean energy and support Exelon’s Quad Cities Generating Station received a public hearing on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
State Sen. Neil Anderson co-sponsed Senate Bill 1585 and voiced his support along with Exelon leaders during a testimony-only hearing of the State Energy and Public Utilities Committee at the Capitol.
Anderson says, “Exelon’s Quad Cities Generating Station in Cordova plays an important role in the economy of northwestern Illinois. We need to do what we can to keep this facility operating and preserve jobs for the hundreds of people employed there, and the many businesses they support in their communities.”
The Cordova facility employs nearly 800 people.
